Always a popular Pokémon, Eevee is a favorite of many trainers due to its plethora of evolutions. Eevee, along with its three original evolutions, was first introduced in the Gen I games. Since then, different generations have had their won “Eeveelutions” added to the table, with the number now totaling eight.

While each evolution starts out the same, some end up being more useful than others. It isn’t a simple matter of popularity, rather of how useful a given Eeveelution can be in battle. What most people should look at when determining which Eeveelutions are best are stat distribution and learnset. There are clearly some evolutions that are better than others, and knowing which one’s which isn’t a bad idea.
8 Glaceon
It may have a popular design, but in terms of usefulness, Glaceon starts off this list. Introduced in Gen IV, Glaceon evolves when leveled up near an Ice Rock. What stands out about Glaceon are its Defense and Special stats.
But on the flip side, Glaceon doesn’t have great HP or Speed. It’ll more likely than not hit last in battle and though it can deal a good amount of Special damage with moves like Ice Beam and Blizzard, its longevity has to come into question.

7 Jolteon
One of the original Eeveelutions, Jolteon is acquired by exposing Eevee to a Thunder Stone. Jolteon is quick but won’t last you very long in battle. It’s a standard glass cannon, but leaves more to be desired statistically.

High Special and Speed stats coupled with low Defense and HP almost assure that Jolteon won’t be around for too long if it fails to OHKO its opponent. Considering its high Special Attack stat, its Special moveset is kind of lacking, with Thunder and Thunderbolt being the only two notable Electric-type moves.
6 Vaporeon
Vaporeon is the complete opposite of the Eevelutions covered so far. Instead of beating you with its strength and quickness, Vaporeon allows trainers to take a different approach in battle.
