Nintendo confirmed that a new Pokémon Snap was on the way back in June of last year and now we’ve got a new trailer showing off the photography-driven adventure alongside a confirmed release date.

New Pokémon Snap will arrive on Nintendo Switch on April 30 and will bring back the fun-loving photo-taking game in full force. Hopeful trainers will be able to take to the Lental region and explore to their ecological heart’s content, faithfully building up their impressive Pokémon Photodexes while observing these adorable little pocket monsters in their natural habitat.

“New Pokémon Snap presents a fun twist on a Pokémon adventure, with enchanting gameplay that lets players see some of their favorite Pokémon in a different light,” said Nick Chavez, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “This new game is a fun addition to the strong lineup of Pokémon titles available on Nintendo Switch, and we can’t wait to see everyone’s pictures when New Pokémon Snap launches on April 30.”

Pokémon can be found all over the place in the wild, each thriving in their homes waiting to be discovered. Players will be able to harness their inner photographer as they capture the beauty between these creatures during playful moments and those more territorial times. Nintendo also teases that there are quite a few hidden surprises throughout the Lental reason, including secluded areas just waiting to be explored.

Exploring an entire region can seem like a daunting task, but don’t worry; Professor Mirror is there to guide all trainers through their discoveries, instructing them how to take the perfect snapshot. From learning how to pose the pocket monsters in just the right way to learning how to frame a picture just right, New Pokémon Snap has everything fans need to craft their own perfect experience with the re-imagining of a beloved favorite.
